Will it matter if you don't take your breakfast? Recently a test was given in the United States. Those tested included people of different ages, from 12 to 83. During the experiment, these people were given all kinds of breakfasts, and sometimes they got no breakfast at all. Special tests were set up to see how well their bodies worked when they had eaten a certain kind of breakfast. The results show that if a person eats a proper breakfast, he or she will work with better effect than if he or she has no breakfast. This fact appears to be especially true if a person works with his brains. If a student eats fruit, eggs, bread and milk before going to school, he will learn more quickly and listen with more attention to class.
Opposite to what many people believe, if you don't eat breakfast, you will not lose weight. This is because people become so hungry at noon that they eat too much for lunch, and end up gaining weight instead of losing. You will probably lose more weight if you reduce your other meals.
Apply for a Library Card
Any person who lives, works or attends school in New York State is qualified to receive a New York Public Library card free of charge.
Adult and teen users may either apply online or in person at any New York Public Library location. Applications for children aged 11 and under must be completed in person, and require the signature of a parent or guardian.
When you apply for a card online, you will receive a 7-digit temporary barcode(条形码). This allows you to set a PIN (Personal Identification Number).
After you receive your permanent barcode, which is required to borrow materials, search library databases, or reserve a computer, you must validate your card.
Renew or Validate Your Card
All adult, teen and child library cards for cardholders in New York City and areas of New York State outside of New York City expire(期满) and must be renewed every three years. New library card applicants who applied for a card online must validate their card before full cardholder privileges can be extended.
Cardholders in New York City must visit any New York Public Library location to present the required forms of identification in order to renew or validate their card.
Cardholders from areas of New York State outside of New York City may email scans or copies of the required forms of identification to patronaccounts@nypl.org.
Forgot Your PIN?
If you provide the library with a valid email address, you can click on the Forgot Your PIN? Link on the login(登录) screen of either Biblicisms or the Classic Catalog. A link with instructions on changing your PIN will be sent to the email address on your account, giving you a brief period of time to update your information. You must select a 4-digit numeric PIN, with no repeating or obvious characters(e.g.1234 or 2222).
If you have not provided us with a valid email address, you have to visit a library location with valid identification to have a staff member reset your PIN for you.
Nearly everyone has spent at least one night lying in bed wishing for sleep. But for many, it's a nightly struggle. The key, or secret, is to experiment. What works for some might not work as well for others.
Set a regular bedtime. Go to bed at the same time every night.Try not to break this routine on weekends when it may be attractive to stay up late. If you want to change your bedtime, help your body adjust (调整).
If you're getting enough sleep, you should wake up on time naturally without an alarm. As with your bedtime, try to keep your regular wake-up time even on weekends.
Be smart about napping (打盹). Though taking a nap can be a great way to become energetic again, especially for older adults, it can make insomnia (失眠) worse. If you must nap, do it in the early afternoon, and limit it to thirty minutes.
Fight after-dinner drowsiness(睡意). What should you do when getting sleepy before your bedtime? For example, washing the dishes, or calling a friend. If you give in to the drowsiness, you may wake up later in the night and have difficulty getting back to sleep.
A. Wake up at the same time every day.
B. Spend more time outside in the daytime.
C. When it's time to sleep, make sure the room is dark.
D. Get off the couch and do something to avoid falling asleep.
E. If insomnia is a problem for you, consider giving up napping.
F. It's important to find the sleep methods that work best for you.
G. Choose a time when you normally feel tired so that you can fall asleep easily.

Last week I went to visit to my former neighbor, Mr. Yang. He and I used to living next to each other for many years. About half a year ago, an order came which the old building, along with many other similar ones, were going to be pulled down to make room for a main street.
So I had to move apart. Mr. Yang now lives in the suburbs near a beautiful park. His new apartment is much big than before. The only problem is that it took quite a long time to get to the downtown area. Therefore, Mr. Yang doesn't seem to worry about the long distance. He says that new subway line is to be built in a few year and he is sure life will be better in the future.
Wang Peng felt very (frustrate) when he saw that there were few customers in his restaurant, because by then his restaurant to be full of people. his friend didn't come to eat in his restaurant. Wang Peng wanted to find out why, he followed Li Chang into a new restaurant. There he saw a sign. As people often say, "No one knows the value of healthhe loses it." In other words (换句话说), nothing is more important health. Good health is beneficialyour work and study. But how to keep healthy? Here I want to give you some advice.
First, you should go to bed early and get up early. Second, keep a healthy and (balance) diet — eat more vegetables and fruits and other food full of energy and fibre; eat sugar and rich food as little as possible. Don't eat food has gone bad. Third, get rid of the bad habits such as (smoke), drinking or staying too late. Physical exercise can make your body strong, we should exercise every day. In word, health is more valuable than anything else. We should do everything we can to keep us (health).
