Neil Armstrong was an American astronaut. He made history July 20, 1969. He was the (one) man to walk on the moon! When he (step) on the moon, he spent two and half hours outside the spacecraft. His famous saying is "That's one small step for a man, one great leap for mankind."
Millions of people were watching this (amaze) event on TV. The moon shone (bright) that night. It was a great thing (look) up at the moon and know that a man was walking on it! For years, people had wondered if there would be any living (thing) on the moon. Armstrong only found moon rocks and moon dust.
After he resigned(退休)from NASA in 1971,Armstrong taught at the University of Cincinnati to let students know (much) about space. He acted as a spokesman starting in January 1979.
