Thanks for coming to my office today.<br />This interview is to help me get to know you and see if you do well at our school.<br />Thank you, and very happy to be here.<br />Good.<br />Let's get started.<br />First, can you tell me why you are interested in this university?<br />Yes, both of my parents attended this school, and they received excellent education.<br />I know that Harvard University has a long tradition of educating future leaders.<br />What do you plan to study?<br />I would like to major in political science.<br />I want to become an elected official.<br />Why?<br />I am interested in protecting the environment.<br />Right now, politicians are passing laws about it, but they don't really understand the issues.<br />How do you plan to learn about the issues?<br />I will take classes in environmental studies and biology, in addition to my major.<br />Also, as you can see in my application, I have volunteered with local politicians during the summer.<br />I'll continue to do this in college as well.<br />Wonderful.<br />So, can you tell me who has influenced you?<br />My mom.<br />She was an immigrant to her country when she first arrived, but she worked very hard her whole life.<br />Now, she is a professor.<br />What other schools have you applied to?<br />I have also applied to Stanford and Georgetown, but this is my first choice.
