I believe that it is better to travel 10,000 miles than to read 10,000 books. So I like travelling. I took a trip to the UK when I was in Grade 3. When I look back on the trip, one thing stands out –climbing St. Michael's Mount.
St. Michael's Mount is a "mountain on the sea". It is surrounded by water. The mountain is so huge that I was shocked when I first saw it from the beach near the island. We went there by walking on a colorful stone road. I walked slowly so that I could enjoy its beauty.
When I reached the mountain, there were some sea birds flying around. They seemed to be the "guards" of the tiny island. On the mountain, lots of huge trees were standing in front of me. Behind the tall trees, there was a castle (城堡) which was made of huge white stones, with only a few windows. Inside it was like a museum, full of works of art, like paintings and sculptures (雕像).
When we left the mountain, we got caught up in the tide. We had to take a boat to leave. The birds were flying above us and the sun was about to set. It was some wonderful scenery.
