Robinson Crusoe
The writer of the novel Robinson Crusoe is Defoe; he is an English novelist. Robinson Crusoe was written in 1719. It tells us a story about a man shipwrecked (船只失事)alone on an island.
The famous story of Robinson Crusoe can be divided into three parts: Robinson's youth and the time up to his shipwreck; his twenty-eight years on an island alone; his life and adventures after being rescued (营救)from the island.
Robinson wishes to pursue his livelihood (生活) by going to sea. But his family don't agree with him, especially his father. He does so and has some success. But a third voyage ends in slavery. He eventually escapes and is helped to Brazil where he becomes a successful plantation owner. Later, he explores on the sea and is taken to an island because of a terrible storm. The people on the ship are dead except him.
Robinson's life on the island begins; he makes some things with his hands and brain. And he saves a native called Friday. Friday becomes his servant. They live together until they are found by others.
Finally, he leaves the island and returns back to his hometown.
