One morning during my second month ofthe art school, our teacher gave
quiz(小测验). I was always a hard-working student and I did well in all my subjects. So it seemed a piece of cake for me. I had finished the questions successfully and easily, until I read the last one: What is the name of the womancleans the school building every day?
it was some kind of joke. I had seen the cleaning woman several times. She was tall, thinand about 50 years old,how could I know her name? It was of my business. I handed in my paper,the lastquestion empty.
Just before the class ended, one student asked if the last question would count towards our quiz grades.
“Of course it will,”said the teacher. “You many people in the future. All people are important. And all jobs need to . They work hard. They deserve(值得) your attention and care, even if all that you can doto smile and say hello.”
I've never forgotten that lesson. Actually, that was the lesson in my life. I also learned that the cleaning woman's name was Ally Black.
