Saalumarada Thimmakka is an Indian woman, who is (著名的) for her work in planting and taking care of 384 banyan trees in the countryside. She is great not because she is (已经) over 100 years old but because she has planted so many trees.
When she was young, she never had a (机会) to go to school. She could not read or write. At the age of 20, she married to a farmer. (然而, 但是), they could not have children. One day, she came up with an idea of planting trees and looking after them just like raising her own children. She (希望) to live in peace with me (大自然) and then started her lifetime's work.
At the beginning, the (形势，情况) is difficult. They had to carry water from a place far away to water the small trees they planted. And they had to (保护) the small trees from bad weather and animals until they grew well. They worked day and night to grow as many trees as (可能的).
Unluckily, her husband died in l990, but Thimmakka continued her work. Thanks to her, the 384 banyan trees have grown into a (森林). Now she is no longer alone, because the trees are just like her babies.
