The novel coronavirus outbreak( 新型冠状病毒爆发) is not only changing people's greetings, but also some traditions, customs and lifestyles. Let's see a few examples.
        Spain
Every year, thousands of people in Spain kiss sculptures (雕像) of the Virgin Mary in the week leading up to Easter, which falls on April 12 this year. They wait in a line to kiss the hands or feet of sculptures of Mary, looking for her protection. With less than a month to go before the week starts, the tradition could be banned (禁止). "It is one of the actions that is on the table," said Fernando Simon.
        Romania
Romania's Martisor festival marks the beginning of spring. To celebrate, people give flowers to each other and kiss. Usually, men give the flowers to women. But the government has passed on a message suggesting that people hand over the flowers without the kiss this year.
        Brazil
Chimarrao, a kind of caffeine-rich (富含咖啡因的) drink, is a favorite in Brazil. The drink is commonly shared among groups of friends. When sharing chimarrao, the tea is passed around in a metal cup with a metal straw (吸管), and everyone takes turns drinking from it. It's clearly not safe to do this now. The Brazilian health ministry has suggested that people should not share their metal straws.
