As we all face the novel coronavirus (新型冠状病毒), protecting yourself is the same as protecting others. Here are some safe suggestions for us to prevent the new virus (病毒).
Stay away from crowds and wear masks (口罩)
If you have to go to crowded places, remember to wear a mask Keep at least one meter away between yourself and other people, especially those who are coughing or sneezing(打喷嚏). If you are too close, you can easily breathe in the virus. Wearing a mask can prevent droplets (粘液飞沫) from reaching your face or mouth.
Keep fresh air
Open windows to let in fresh air during the day. It's best to do this three times a day for 15 minutes to half an hour each time. The virus can only infect(感染)you when it builds up to a certain amount(数量).
Wash hands properly
Remember to wash your hands before eating, after going to the bathroom, coming home, after coming into contact with animals and touching rubbish. Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth before washing your hands. Washing your hands more often can stop the virus from entering your body.
Take up good habits
Keep healthy habits such as eating healthy food and exercising more often, as well as getting enough sleep. Good habits can improve your immune system (免疫系统).
