Once upon a time, there was a king. He liked to stay in his palace. One day, he went far away for a trip. When he went back to his palace, his feet were very painful (疼痛的). It was the first time that he went for a long trip, and the road was not good. He then ordered his people to cover all the roads of the country with soft leather. It would need thousands of cows' skin, and would cost a lot of money. Then a wise man came to the king and said," Why don't you just cut a little piece of leather to cover your own feet?" The king was very happy to hear this and he made a pair of "shoes" for himself. Those was the first pair of shoes in the world.
