It's 3:30 on Saturday afternoon, Peter, his cousin Jeff and his parents are watching a TV show about the traditional Chinese clothes. Peter wants to know more about them.
His mother, Linda tells him that Hanfu is a kind of Chinese traditional clothes.
Now it is still very popular in China. People usually make Hanfu with cotton and linen (棉麻). Qipao is a kind of traditional dress for women in China. She has one made of colorful silk. It's her favorite. Many women in the West also like Qipao a lot.
His father, Steve says Tang suit (唐装) is another kind of Chinese traditional clothes. People often wear Tang suits when they have important meetings. He also remembers that all the VIPs wore them at APEC in Shanghai in 2001. They all looked smart in this kind of clothes. He likes Tang suits very much, but many young people don't. Because they find it cool to wear the clothes in their own styles.
Jeff says the modern ( 现 代 的 ) clothes are better. But they all think the clothes must be comfortable (舒适的) first.
