A school in Britain is offering its pupils laptops (手提电脑). Students can use their own laptops in class and for homework at home. Pupils at the school can hand in workon line and receive feed back (反馈) from teachers when they are not in the classroom. It's Britain's first school to offer students laptops. All 1,400 boys and girls will receive one. A laptop cost around £400.In all, the laptop project cost the school over £500,000. Parents are being asked to pay £2 every week for their child's laptop when the child stays at the school. Parents think that the price is very low because laptops are expensive to buy.
The head master of the school, Bill Roberts, says that with the help of the laptop, anytime students want to learn. They can work whether they are at the school or at home. Mr. Roberts also says, however, that children will continue to use Traditional learning materials (方法). Teachers think using laptops can raise pupils' work speed (速度). Parents also think using laptops can help their children learn better. They think they can help children prepare for the real world.
