The 93rd Academy Awards Ceremony (The Oscars) is to be broadcast on Sunday. To be a member of the Academy, a person has to work in the production of movies(release) in theaters. When winners receive an award, they usually begin by thanking the Academy and other moviemakers like(they). There is a time limit for Oscar acceptance speeches, which are supposed to be less than 45(second). However, the winner of the best ac-tor award usually speaks for about two minutes. At that point, music usually begins to play, telling the speaker (finish).
The Australian actor, Paul Hogan,(give)advice to the winners at the 1987 Academy Awards Ceremony. He said when winners make the speech, it'sgood tip to remember the three Gs: Be gracious, Be grateful, Get off.
"Be gracious" means being kind and respectful. After all, the winners are speaking to a group of people withthey want to continue working in the future. "Be grateful" means being (thank),and "get off" means leaving the stage Many Oscar winners use their time to speak in support of their favorite causes(事业). That can make their speeches much longer,people watching on TV usually enjoy(hear) shorter speeches
