In 2010, an earthquake happened in Haiti(海地）. It destroyed(毁坏）many of the schools. After photos of the earthquake, Abbey Windham, an American student, the need to visit the country. "When I arrived in Haiti, I fell in love with it right away, 'she said. "Everyone was so kind. I do want to help the children in Haiti." In 2018, when Abbey knew a school in her hometown was selling old desks and chairs before moving into new , she got a good idea. She started a Go Fund Me page and hoped that people would help pay for these school things and send them to schools in Haiti. She raised(筹集) over $17, 000 online. Abbey was able to get 500 chairs, 300desks, 120 tables, 83 computers, 14 interactive whiteboards, 7 television sets, and other things. The school also some textbooks and maps. in the summer, over 1, 000 desks, chairs and other school things traveled 1, 600 miles from America to Haiti. Abbey said that she couldn't make it her school, her friends and all the people who helped her.
