In the past（过去） there lived a man in a small town called Zheng. One day he wanted to buy himself a new pair of . He measured （测量） his feet with a ruler first and down his size on a piece of paper. Then he went shoe shopping.
When he arrived at the shoe shop, he put his hand into his pocket（口袋）, but he foundpaper was not here. So he said to the salesman, "I left the measurement at home and don't know the size. I'll will go home to take it. With these words, he ran out the shop.
He ran back home, found the paper and then ran to the shop again. it took him a few hours and the shop was closed. He the afternoon on the way and did not buy his shoes at last.
Someone asked , "Did you want to buy the shoes for yourself?"
"Of course," he answered.
"Then why don't you the shoes on by yourself ？"
" I trust（相信） the ruler more my feet, " he said.
