Have you ever heard the word "Luddites"? Here is the story. Ned Ludd was simply one of many (boy) working in an English factory, until one day in 1779. On that day, being tired of his job, he became (real)angry and smashed(砸碎) two machines. Everyone talked about Ned's actions. Many people were also unhappy about working with machines in factories. Others were angry machines made it easy to replace (替代) skilled workers with unskilled ones. Ned's (act) made them pleased. Ned's story was told and retold for a long time. Some historians wonder Ned was a real person.
After that, a group of English factory workers started a secret group in 1811. They wanted (fight) against long work hours, dangerous machines, and dark, dirty factories. They called themselves the Luddites. This was in honor of Ned Ludd. The Luddites asked for much (good) working conditions. Now the word "Luddite" (use) for people who are against any kind of new technology. They might refuse to use computers, cellphones, the Internet Like Ned Ludd,they dislike the changes that are brought technology.
