Chinese pianist Lang Lang joined in an online global concert on April 18th this year.
"It is one of the most important experiences in my life. It has made me a part of music history. I feel proud to do what I can do for fighting the virus," said the pianist. "I do think good music can unite the world and give people power."
The event, curated by Lady Gaga and organized by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the nonprofit group Global Citizen, is the biggest effort the stars have done. It is to mark COVID-19 that has killed more than 400,000 people worldwide so far.
The two-hour online concert began at 8 pm US Eastern Time on April 18. Before that, a six-hour online pre-telecast show began at 2 pm. Many famous artists including Paul McCartney, Taylor Swift, Billie Eilish, Victoria Beckham and many other Chinese stars including Lang Lang, Jacky Cheung and Eason Chan took part in the event.
"We are forever thankful for what the healthcare workers have done to keep us healthy and safe." said the artists.
