American schools begin from September after a long summer vacation. There are two terms in a school year. The first is from September to November, and the second is from February to June. Most American children begin to go to school at the age of five. Most students are seventeen or eighteen years old when they finish high school (中学). Primary (小学) students don't have many to learn in school. They usually have three or four classes a day. They don't go to school at weekends. They learn language— English, math, science, dancing, singing and so on. Most students' favorite subject is science. High school students take only four or five subjects each term. They're language—English or Spanish, math, Chemistry, history, biology, physics and so on. After school, they can do many interesting things, such as playing football, dancing, singing, painting and taking pictures. After high school, many students go to college. They usually have to pay (付钱) a lot of money. So many college students work after class.
