When the other 9-year-old children are playing and studying in school, little Anna is taking care of(照顾)her grandmother and great-grandmother. Her mother and father left her when she was only 3 months old. She has a grandmother and a great-grandmother. Her grandmother is ill(生病的). She can't take care of herself. So Anna cooks for them, and helps them with housework every day. Then she cleans the house, and helps them to go to the toilet(厕所). She has no other family to help her.
Tony, Anna's neighbor(邻居), has a small supermarket. Sometimes he buys clothes for Anna and her family. Also Tony teaches her to read and write.
Another neighbor, Kate, also a 9-year-old girl takes her old books to Anna. Of all the books,
Little Anna thanks them for what they do for her. And she says she does the housework happily because she wants to do it. She always says, "I'm thankful that I get a lot and learn a lot from them. I'm a lucky girl, I think.
