My father is committed the poverty alleviation(扶贫) campaign, and I follow in his (footstep). Every summer, I take part in volunteer activities for (rurally) communitieses.
In 2019, I went to a small village in Wuxi County, Chongqing, joined local government staff to help them build houses and roads. We applied for funding, (buy) building materials and discussed the construction plan of the houses, (devote) ourselves to converting a dozen decaying(衰败的) mud houses into new brick houses within two months. Meanwhile, we also helped to change the narrow, rugged (崎岖的) road into concrete (混凝土的) road, made life far more convenient. was a very fulfilling experience and I felt (relieve) to see the smile on an 80-year-old grandma's face when she moved into her new house.
