Tom is a seven-year-old boy in the UK. One evening, his mum was not1, and she was in hospital. His dad looked after the boy at home. After supper, Tom and Dad played with a toy car.
"Tom, it is time for bed now, "said his dad. He asked Tom to go to bed 2it was 9:30pm.
Tom went to his room. His dad started to watch a soccer game on TV in the living room. He loved soccer very much. He watched the games almost everyday. It was 9:45 and Tom called, "Daddy, can you please bring me a glass of3to drink?"
His dad said, "No way, Tom! You get it on your own!"
After five minutes, Tom called his dad, "Daddy, please give me water."
His dad said 4, "No, Tom. If you ask again, I will come in and spank(打……屁股) you!" Tom was 5for a few minutes. And then he called, "Daddy, when you come to spank me, can you please give me a glass of water?"
