Colin walks out of the shopping center with his head down. There are many wonderful Mother's Day gifts there, but they are too1. He has only saved four dollars.
"Why don't you make her something? " Colin's elder sister Whitney asks. "2the poem I wrote for Mom last year? She loved it so much!"
Colin knows that is3. The poem hangs right above the fireplace （壁炉）. But Colin isn't4writing poem. Colin thinks about the idea the whole way home. He spends the next two days7in his room. Finally he finishes it.
On the morning of Mother's Day, Colin gives it to Mon. He holds his breath as his mom looks at it. "This is the8gift you have ever given me, Colin," his mother says tearfully. "I know just where to put it, " his dad says9a smile.
He hangs it next to Whitney's poem above the fireplace. Colin looks up at the comic. It is really a perfect10.
