There is a family called Franklin. They live in Boston. There are sixteen children in the family. Then in January in 1706, they have another baby boy. The boy's parents give the young boy a name — Benjamin.
Benjamin is the cleverest (最聪明的) of all the children. He can read when he is five and he can write when he is seven. When he is eight, he goes to school. In school Benjamin does well in reading and writing but not well in math. He thinks math is difficult. Because the family is poor( 穷的), Franklin goes away from school at 10. He reads all of his father's books. And when he has a little money, he buys many books. Reading books is his favorite thing. Books are his best teacher.
