Once there lived a man called Jim. Jim enjoyed betting (打赌) and he bet on everything. If someone said 1to him, he would bet him that it was not a good morning. Every time there was a chicken fight, Jim would 2 bet on it.
One day, Jim showed a frog to a stranger. He bet the stranger forty dollars that the frog could jump farther and faster than any other frog in his village. The stranger said 3he had one he would bet Jim. Jim left his frog with the stranger and went out to 4 a frog for the stranger. After Jim left, the stranger took out a bag of gunshot (枪弹) and put the gunshot into the frog's mouth.
Soon Jim 5with a frog for the stranger. They put the two frogs on the ground and gave each of them a push. To Jim's surprise, the stranger's frog jumped quickly, but Jim's frog couldn't move. Jim had no choice but to give forty dollars to the stranger. The stranger took the 6and went away.
Jim picked up his frog, and found it very7. He turned it upside down, and the gunshot came out. At that time, he knew that he was fooled. He started running after the stranger.
As he ran, he passed one of his friends. The friend asked him 8he was going.
"To 9 a man!" shouted Jim, "No matter how fast he may run, I'll catch him. 10 will bet you five dollars!"
