Jerry wants to find a job in the city. One day, he sees an advertisement (广告) on a window. It says, "Wanted: the best salesman (推销员) in the world."

Jerry wants the job, so he goes into the building and says to a manager (经理), "I think I'm the best salesman in the world. Give me the job, please." "You must prove (证明) you're the best, my boy," the manager says. "I'll pass every test you give me," Jerry says. "Good," the manager says and takes some candies out of his desk. "Last week I bought 1,000 boxes of candies. If you can sell them all before the end of this week, you can have the job." "That's a piece of cake," Jerry says.

Every day he goes from door to door and tries to sell the candies, but nobody buys them because they taste bad. At the end of the week, he goes back to the manager.

"I'm sorry, sir," he says. "I was wrong about myself. I'm not the best salesman in the world, but I know who is." "Oh? Who do you think is the best salesman?" the manager is surprised and asks. "The person who sold (卖) you 1, 000 boxes of candies."
