Liu Zhiwei who studies oil painting at the College of Art, Qingdao University of Science and Technology, painted on a wall in his hometown, Daowu Village, Hunan Province.
COVID-19 has made life difficult and boring, but Liu has found a way to bring color into our lives.
Painting skills need daily practice, but students weren't allowed to go to school. Then Liu came up with the idea. Every sunny day, he finished three for four paintings. He spent about 40 or 50 minutes on each of them. In the past four months, he finished over 150 world—famous paintings on the wall. The wall has attracted(吸引) lots of visitors to take photos.
Many people said that it was a good way to beautify the streets in the countryside. After getting a lot of praise, Liu said, "I'm just doing a small thing. There are tens of thousands of art students who are better than me. "
Liu's project also caused some students to think over what they had done in the past months. An Internet user said, "I'm a college student too, but I only spent time on the mobile phone during the long holidays."
Liu said he would be happy if the wall became an inspiration(启发) for other places. He thinks if more art lovers do this in the countryside, it will make a difference to the countryside.
In fact, most villagers know little about arts. However, Liu said, "For me, art should not only appear in the gallery, but also be everywhere in our daily lives."
