    Have you ever heard of after-school services? Well, recently, after-school services are one of the hottest topics. By offering after-school services, teachers give students care and help after school, so that parents can pick up their children after work. And they have many other benefits (好处).

    Firstly, they can help students avoid going to the informal (不正规的) after-school classes. There are always students who go to informal after-school classes which do not pay enough attention to students' safety and the teachers there often lack (缺乏) teaching skills. However, the teachers of after-school services are school teachers. They are more serious and responsible. And they are stricter with students.

They know their learning and daily performance well. "By watching students' performance after class, we can know more about our students' self-learning, which can make it easier for us to improve our teaching methods," one teacher says.

    Thirdly, after-school services can cut down the amount of homework. One important part of after-school services is homework tutoring (辅导). Most students can finish their homework during the after-school service period, which reduces (减轻) the pressure on parents. After-school services can also make the teachers see more clearly about the amount of homework they have given to students, so as to truly reduce the burden (负担) of the students.

    In a word, after-school services aim to serve the students and help the parents, but they cannot take the place of family education. Parents should care about their kids as usual.
