Why are volunteer soldiers the most lovely people? China's latest war movie The Battl eat Lake Changjin, may give you the answer.
The film is about a turning point of the War to Resist Us Aggression and Aid Korea (抗美援朝战争) (1950-1953). It tells the story of a volunteer army guarding its position under ice and snow and making great contributions(责献)to the Changin Lake Campaign. The whole film is very shocking. Their frozen fragments (雕像)perfectly show their spirit of facing death bravely. Details and scenes of the war were successfully showed by the directors Chen Kaige, Xu Ke and Lin Chaoxian.
It centers on two brothers who both join the Chinese People's Volunteers Army. Wu Jing acts Wu Qianli, the elder brother and the leader, and Yiyang Qianxi acts his wise younger brother, Wu Wanli.
Qianli put down his dishes and chopsticks and accepted the order to return to the team, Mei Sheng rode quite a long distance to report for duty although he could retire (退休) from the army. The snow covered the soldiers, but they didn't move to avoid being found by the enemy. Countless soldiers sacrificed(牺牲) their lives to fight the enemy. In the end, the Shuimen Bridge was successfully blown up and the U.S. military (军队) were forced to retreat (投降).
Each soldier is worthy of our respect and love. It's impossible for us to lead such a happy life without their sacrifice. See? The prosperous (繁华的) times are as you wish!
