She loved the feeling of the sand between her toes. It was like hot snow, Margaret thought to herself as she 1 her feet along the surface. Her family was 2 their umbrella and chairs closer to the water.
"Who wants to take a 3?" her mom asked. Margaret's father and brother were already 4 in their books. Margaret's mom shook her head at the two bookworms and smiled at Margaret. "Me!" Margaret said.
They had been in the car for three hours, and Margaret was 5 to stretch her legs. Plus, walks with Mom almost 6 came with an ice cream cone or a drink.
They walked for a long time, staying by the water 7 the bigger waves would just 8 it to their feet.
"Look!" Margaret said, pointing to a huge sandcastle ahead.
"I can't believe I forgot! It's the 9 sandcastle contest today," her mom said. Margaret was surprised to see how enthusiastic her mom was about the 10. When they got 11, she understood why her mom was so excited. These sandcastles were works of art. It was 12 to believe it was all made of sand.
Her mom told her that the 13 spent many hours planning and building them. Margaret was 14. She decided that next year, she would need to get to the 15 early in the morning the day of the sandcastle competition. She would have a lot to learn—or maybe a lot to build!
