It's Monday morning. Mary and her mum go to welcome their new neighbors (邻居).
"These are my son and daughter," says Mrs Smith, "They are Gina and Tom."
"This is my daughter Mary," says Mary's mum.
"Hello, Gina and Tom. Nice to meet you," says Mary.
But Gina and Tom are too shy (害羞). They don't say hi to Mary.
"It can be hard to meet new friends," says Mary's mum.
"Oh, I know! "says Mary. "I was shy on my first day of school too. "
"Really?" says Gina.
"Yes, of course. There are forty students in my class. I didn't know them at first. But now we are good friends," says Mary.
"You are so nice," says Mrs Smith, And then Gina and Tom say hi to Mary. They are not shy now. And the three have a good time in the room.
