When Austin was a child, she was shorter than most girls. Her dream was to become a tennis player. Although many people doubted that, she didn't give up and when she was 15, she was given a car as a prize in a tennis competition. In 1979, she beat Chris Evert in the final of the US Open. Then, at the age of 17, the American became the youngest sportsperson to earn a million dollars. Before long, she was the world's number one player. Although her career was full of ups and downs, she still found her way to fight on.
Gaurika Singh, swimmer
Gaurika is from Nepal, and she was the only under-14-year old to take part in the 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, making her the youngest athlete in Rio at the age of 13. In the beginning of her sports life, few people thought she would succeed, but she didn't care about their words. Year after year, with great efforts, at the 19th National Swimming Championship (锦标赛), she broke 8 national records in 7 events. Home for Gaurika these days is in the UK, and she trains at the Copthall Swimming Club.
