Ruan Jiahui is a 12-year old girl from Beijing. She and her classmates (take) a skiing (滑雪) course every Tuesday at the Vanke Shijinglong Ski Resort. It's a 40-minute drive from (they) primary school.
After taking three courses, Ruan has mastered (掌握) basic skiing skills such stopping and turning. "I'm not afraid of skiing any more. It has become one of my favourite (hobby)," she says. As we know, Beijing and Zhangjiakou in Hebei will hold the 2022 Winter Olympic Games. Ruan's home town Yanqing will hold some of the competitions during the games. Yanqing (provide) about 3, 000 students with skiing courses for six years.
Other winter sports like skating have also won the hearts of children (quick). Around 5, 000 students across Yanqing have learned it 2017.
Because of the 2022 Winter Olympic Games, more children have fallen in love with skating. Yuan Xin is 11-year old primary school student. She began to be (interest) in skating two years ago. After a lot of hard practice, she has made much progress in it. She says, "Skating is cool, I hope to become an Olympic volunteer (志愿者) in 2022. "
