A Children's Literature-Research Tips: Finding Information on Authors
Your author study requires you to write, in at least 3 pages, a summary of what the author has written, how the works have been received, what awards the author has been given, as well as any connections you have made by reading much of the author's published books.
Below is a list of places to find such information. You will have most success with the items, if you look at them in the order they are listed.
Literature Resource Center
Provides biographical information, summaries of works, book reviews, and literary criticism. Once you have completed your search, be sure to look at all the tabs(标签) that are displayed. You can also change/narrow your search by using the links on the left side of the screen.
Biography in Context
You may find many of the same resources in this database as you found in Literature Resource Center. The two databases are produced by the same company. However, there is enough different information that it is worth checking.
Again, enter your author's name, last name first, like this: Erdrich, Louise.
Blooms Literary Reference Collection
Search by your author's name, last name first, like this: erdrich, louise.
The results will be presented with tabs across the top. Select the "Biographies" tab.
