Do you know why some animals are in danger of dying out? Read and find out.

Many animals in the world are in danger of dying out. This is because people are destroying their homes. When this happens, the animals cannot find enough food. For example, people use bamboo from bamboo forests for building. Pandas eat bamboo. Therefore, they no longer have enough to eat.

In Hong Kong we are short of land. Therefore, people take land from the sea. This means that the pink dolphins around Hong Kong have less space to live in. People also cause a lot of pollution. Wild animals cannot live in polluted places.

Some people like to buy young animals like baby orangutans as pets. Although baby orangutans are small and cute, when they grow up they become too large to keep in a house. But by then it is too late to teach the orangutans how to live in the jungle.

Do you enjoy seeing different kinds of animals? We need to protect wild animals and their homes so that our children can still see many different kinds of animals in the future.
