Fromthis September, primary and middle school students take the labor(劳动) class for over 1 hour every week.
Studentsfrom Class 106, Grade 1 learn the quilt folding skill(叠被子技巧). Four to six children sit around the table in groups. "Thereare long sides(边) and short sides. Hold(抓住) the long sides to the middle, and then fold the quilt in half,"the teacher says and shows the students how to do it. And then, the studentspractice(练习) the skill with the help of the teacher. All of the children like the class very much.
Atthe labor practice base(实践基地), Mr. Sunshows the 5th grade students how to cook. The students work ingroups, too. Some wash vegetables. Some others cook. The students have fun andlearn a lot in the labor classes.
They think it's important for their children to learn them. The skills can helpthe children a lot when they meet with difficulties.
