Dear Alan, 

Thanks for your letter. It was great to hear from you! It is very kind of you to invite me to spend the holiday with you. I'd love to come for a few days. But I can't stay with you for the whole vacation because my parents want me to go to Hong Kong with them for a few days. I've never been there before and I'm very excited.

I was very busy after I wrote to you last time. I just took a big test for a scholarship. I don't know if I can get the scholarship. I hope I can. If I get the scholarship, my parents won't have to pay anything for my education.

I didn't tell my parents about our adventure in the cave. I didn't want them to worry. I don't know about you, but I was very scared. I heard stories of people going into caves and never coming out again!
