Schools and universities can set up full-time or part-time positions of sports coaches. A guideline issued（颁发） by the General Administration of Sport（体育总局） and three other departments in January, 2023, said that these school coaches can not only help students get higher level in sports but also become members of sports teachers when some schools are in need of them.
Local governments can provide a certain number of school coaching positions for retired（退役的） high-level sportsmen. After getting teaching certificates, school coaches can become sports teachers, too. Sports teachers can also become school coaches after getting coaching certificates.
School coaches are responsible to train sports skills of students, organize physical training and choose future sports talents. Also, it's their job to organize school sports competitions, manage school sports teams and sports clubs and so on.
Connecting sports with education is an important way to improve students' health. And more sports coaches in schools can develop sports education. With the help of them, students can keep one hour of sports activities in and after school every day. Primary and middle schools can open one sports class every day.
