My mother loved old English silver (银的) spoons. She always (keep) her collection growing. But strangely, she did not use or display these valuable items. Instead, she always put them (careful) in cloth or soft bags and stored them in a suitcase.
My brother and I had no interest old English silver spoons of any shape or size, and we couldn't understand her love for (they).
Why did my mother have this special collection? She grew up in English village and moved to Canada she was young. She missed hometown all the time, though she lived in Canada for the rest of her life. Perhaps the search for old English spoons was a search for her good old (day) in her childhood.
When I visited, she would take her treasures out (show) me. She was especially proud of one spoon. It was the (old) of all.
After she died, I put her once-special spoon in my kitchen. Every time when I drink my soup with the newly polished spoon, it makes me think of my mom.
