There is a little elephant. His name is Gaston. He doesn't like to work. He only likes to play. One morning Gaston's mother says, "My dear, it's time for you to work." Gaston doesn't want to work. He runs away.
He has a very good time: he runs, jumps and plays games with other little animals. In the evening he is very hungry. He goes to the lion and says, "Mr. Lion, I am so hungry. Would you like to give me some bananas to eat?" "All right!" says the lion. "But you must work first. Then you can get your supper." The little elephant doesn't want to work. So he runs away.
He asks a lot of animals to give him some apples to eat. "OK," says the tiger, "but you must work first." And Gaston runs away.

So the hungry elephant runs back home. When he sees his mother, he says, "Dear Mom, I'm so sorry! Now I know I must work if I want to have something to eat."
