American Michael Fountaine owns the world's largest collection of McDonald's memorabilian(n. (复数) 纪念品). His 75,000 piece collection fulls up nine rooms. It includes more than 1,000 McDonald's cups, 11,700 pins and nearly every Happy Meal toy the fast food chain has produced. The 60-year-old also collects uniforms, buttons and old displays, as well as a big figure of McDonald's mascot(n. 吉祥物), Ronald McDonald.
Mr. Fountaine said, "This collection means everything to me, it is my life's work. Thousands and thousands of hours have been spent assembling this collection and taking pride to display it nicely."
Mr. Fountaine began a career with McDonald's in 1968 when he was 15. He started collecting items from the fast food chain one year later, after he was given a pin to celebrate his first year of service. He is very proud to be a part of the McDonald's family, andd now he runs two McDonald's restaurants of his own.
Mr. Fountaine hopes to turn his collection into a museum one day to help raise money for Ronald McDonald charities. He wants to raise money to help kids around the world who has cancer by charging admission(n. 入场费) to see his collection.
Besides his collection, Mr. Fountaine also takes pride in his resuaurants. He said,"People say they are the most beautiful McDonald's restaurants they have ever seen. I installed(v. 安装,安置) a musical playground for children and at lunch time they are always full. I want to make them the best restaurants in the world"
