Stephen Hawking is a great scientist in the world. He is called "Master of the Universe".
He also wrote many famous science books, such as A Brief History of Time.
The British scientist was born on 8th January 1942 in Oxford, England. He went into Oxford University to study science in 1959. Then, he studied at Cambridge. In 1963, he got badly ill and couldn't walk any more. Doctors said he might live for only two years at that time.
Later, Hawking's health became worse and be couldn't say anything. He had to use a special machine to help him talk with others. But he never stopped working hard.
Stephen Hawking died on 14th March 2018. His children, Lucy, Robert and Tim said, "We are very sad because our father passed away. But his work and legacy(遗产)will live on for many years."
