In the morning, when people wake up, they like to look out of the window. They want to know about the weather today. If it is cold and snowy, they will wear a jacket. If it is hot and sunny, they may wear shorts. 

Everybody talks about the weather. People usually begin their talks with "Isn't it a nice day? " "What a fine day! " and so on.

But what is weather?

What is happening outdoors at a location(地点) at a particular time? That's weather. Weather can change very much in a very short time. For example, it may rain for an hour, but then it becomes sunny.

In summer in New York, we usually have hot weather. 

But in winter we often have cold weather. Many people like autumn because it's neither hot nor(也不) cold. Old people don't like winter because they often catch colds in winter.

Every day there is a weather report on TV, on radio and in the newspapers. What is your weather like today?
