| Oil paper umbrellas Oil paper umbrellas, with a history of over 1000 years in China, used to be common. Umbrellas take more than 70 steps to make, including making support with bamboo, pasting papers (糊纸) and painting patterns (图案). It takes at least a week to make an umbrella.
