My favourite thing to do in my free time is to volunteer. I have volunteered in different projects and done different types of work.
However，no matter what work I was given，I loved it the same and I often encourage others to give it a go. Here are the main reasons why I think voluntary work is worth doing.
① It's a chance to get experience and skills.
When volunteering，you are doing a job，even though you're not being paid. So you can get valuable experience and skills which are likely to be useful in the future. For example，some voluntary work can develop your soft skills such as how to work in a team.
② You can meet new people.
One of the best things about volunteering is meeting the other volunteers!They are likely to be very interesting and inspiring people like you，so you may make good friends in this way.

Many people who do voluntary work say that it has helped them to feel more confident in all kinds of ways. For example，I have always been quite a shy person，but my volunteering experience has helped me to build confidence. Now I feel more comfortable talking to strangers，and even in front of a crowd!
④ You can have lots of fun!
Doing an activity that you don't always do，with someone like you，will bring a lot of fun. If you volunteer in an Animal Rescue Centre，you can help take care of animals and play with them. In return，they will bring you a lot of happiness. You will also feel good，knowing that you are doing something for a good reason.
Most importantly，as the saying goes "The roses in her hand，flavor in mine. " We can actually get a lot through helping others. Therefore，I suggest that you look for volunteering chances in your community or city. There are many different things that you can get started with. You can start with something small. Remember that any type of volunteering is good and valuable.
