Confucius was born in China in 551 BC, more than 2500 years ago. He was born in a poor family, but he learned hard from different teachers and became a teacher too. He travelled around many countries and taught more than 3000 students. Some of them were from poor families. Confucius lived to be seventy-two years old. His students collected his ideas and sayings and wrote the famous book, The Analects of Confucius. In the following years, many people read the book. Now, Confucius' ideas are still very important for our Chinese people. We can lean a lot from them.
