Murray can speak Chinese well. His family like to call him by his Chinese childhood name Maodou. His parents 4 him and his sister to speak Chinese at home. He can't read the Chinese characters (汉字) well 5 he can read books with pinyin. He loves reading picture books about Chinese history.
Murray's parents find different 6 to teach him about China and Chinese culture. In 2019, they asked for Murray's leave from his school and 7 him and his sister back to China for the Spring Festival. They went to Shenyang and got together with their relatives 8 . Murray set off the firecrackers (爆竹) as his dad did 9 he was a kid. They also watched colorful lion dances and enjoyed the lanterns (灯笼). His sister liked traditional Chinese food best, 10 hotpot (火锅) and dumplings. Those experiences were so amazing for them.
