Jane's grandparents have got a big farm. They live on the farm. Jane often goes to see her grandparents on weekends. On the farm there (be) many kinds of animals, like cows, dogs, chickens and ducks. Jane likes (play) with them because they can make her happy.
There is little elephant on the farm. It is thin and small. It has no mother. It never plays other animals. It often walks around alone. Jane (love) it so much. She often gives the poor elephant some good food to eat. Soon they become good (friend).
Every time, when the little elephant sees Jane, it runs up to her like a little dog. Sometimes it follows(跟随) Jane to the river. There Jane can (read) books on the ground and the little elephant can swim the river (happy).
Her grandfather often asks (she),"Why does the elephant like you so much?" "Oh, because I love it," Jane answers.
"Yes, animals are our friends, we should be kind to them." Grandfather says with a smile.
