Mack Rutherford, 17, is both British and Belgian. Recently, he completed a five-month flight safely with his airplane. The teen has now set the record as the 1 person to fly around the world alone.
He flew in a small, two-seater airplane, which traveled at 2 of about 300 kph. One of the plane's seats was replaced with an extra gas tank （油箱）. It allowed him to cover 3 distances.
Mack's route （路线）took him over Europe, Africa, Asia and North America.
He visited 52 countries 4 , and crossed the equator twice — that's required to set the Guinness World Record（吉尼斯世界记录）.
Mack expected his trip to take two to three 5 at first, but later he found that he had to adjust^调整）his ideas. In some places, he had to wait a long time to get permission to fly. Besides, Mack faced lots of other 6 , many of them related to bad weather.
"Crossing the Pacific Ocean was the most difficult part of the trip. " he said. 7 Mack met lots of difficulties, he never got frightened. And he 8 the trip as "completely amazing. "
Mack said he hoped his trip would 9 young people they could make a difference. "You don't need to be 18 to do something special. Just follow your dreams and they will10 come true. " he added.
