China is now making airplanes. The first Chinese. made airplane with (passenger) took off from Shanghai on Sunday and landed al Beijing, The C919 plane (make) by the Commercial Aircraft Corporation or China Lid. This is shortened to "COMAC". China's president called the C919 aircraft a "triumph （巨大成功） of Chinese innovation （革新）". Newspapers in China called it "a symbol of industrial skill and (nation) pride". A passenger said; "The light was extremely smooth, . (comfort) and memorable. I'll remember it for some time to come."
COMAC hopes to compete airline industry giant （大公司）. like Boeing and Airbus. It started developing the C919 in 2008. Production began in 2011. It was not passed to fly commercially （商业化的） in China September 2022.
COMAC's (one) customer was China Eastern Airlines. COMAC plans (build) 150 planes each year for the next five years. It has orders for more than 1,000 C919s from different Chinese airlines. It hopes to get international orders. COMAC(say) is airplanc was "important milestone" for China's aircraft industry.
