When I was eight, I moved to a new primary school. That first day, I found myself in a new classroom full of thirty new faces. As a shy child, this was really 1 . When the teacher let me stand up and 2 myself, I was trembling (颤抖).
Later that day as I walked into the school hall, I didn't know which book to take, so I 3 the boy in front of me. But when we sat down, the head teacher discovered my 4 "You should take the blue book, not the green!" she shouted. My face turned red as all 5 turned to me.
The same teacher asked me to sing in front of 300 children. I'd had no idea that this would happen. I sang in a low voice, with a sea of children staring(盯着看) at me 6 . The teacher shouted "Louder! Louder!" in such a quiet hall. But I couldn't make it.
Later, I realized that she was encouraging me to be 7 . She thought calling out my mistakes and forcing(迫使) me to perform(表演) in public could shake the shyness out of me. But it made me quieter. I was so 8 that I didn't want to go to school
But when I was at middle school, things began to 9 . I could perform in public. I was still shy, but I had many friends and I loved performing.
More importantly, I have changed my idea about shyness. It's not a(n) 10 Instead, it's part of my character.
